About the design

A hannya, the jealous demon of Noh theatre, covering the whole face from the chin to the top of the forehead. Its brow, deep-set eyes, cheeks and flaring nose are a traditional hannya sculpt kept as it was carved and bent in Blender just enough to fit over a real human face. Below the nose the mouth gapes wide between full, rounded lips over a smooth chin. Inside it two rows of teeth stand on their gums, with long fangs and tusks growing from the gums, as on an oni. Gold crescent horns rise from swellings on the brow. The face is a little lopsided, with one side's upper lip and cheek drawn up harder than the other. It is sized to a large adult face and stays at least 3 mm off it, with room to breathe through the open mouth, and an elastic strap passes through a slot at each temple. The mask prints face up in red, and the horns print in gold and glue on, each set by a pin of filament.

The face above the mouth and the horns' line are adapted from "Hannya Mask" by Bulat.Shakirov (https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/hannya-mask-96340255c7e94659bb97e8736f5907e2), licensed CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Changes: the face is cut out of its hood, bent to fit a human face and made a little lopsided, its mouth is filled and rebuilt with new lips, gums and teeth, and its ears, horns, teeth, tusks and tongue are left out.

The fangs, the tusks and the horns are taken from "Japanese Elemental Air/Wind Demon Oni Mask - OniKaze" by GiGo (https://www.printables.com/model/1775203), released into the public domain (CC0). They are scaled and set in the hannya's mouth and on its brow.

The wearer is Blender Studio's Human Base Meshes (realistic sculpting head), CC0 (https://www.blender.org/download/demo-files/).
