About the design
A slim deep-V racer for a 2306 quad motor on 3S. A long low foredeck falls to a fine bow, and a flat-roofed fastback canopy rises from the transom's tail spine to a peak and fairs into the foredeck. An inverted wing over the tail presses the stern down at speed. The sealed canopy rolls the boat back upright after a capsize. The hull and canopy print in spiral vase mode, so they are light and seamless, and folds in the wall stiffen them. A log under the keel carries the stern tube from the transom into the hull at the shaft's angle, so nothing is drilled by hand. The motor bolts to a printed mount, a printed coupling drives the shaft, and the rudder behind the prop picks up water for a water-cooled boat ESC. The canopy prints in Bambu PLA Aero, a PLA that foams as it prints and weighs about half as much, and the hull and fittings in PLA Basic.
What you can change
- Shaft angle, which places the log, the coupling and the motor
- Prop size and how far behind the transom and below the keel it turns
- Motor, which sizes the mount and the coupling
- Battery, ESC, receiver and servo
